Soap Making

Have you ever wondered how to make soap from scratch? Well, now is your chance to learn about cold-pressed soap! This 90-minute class will start with a discussion of making a soap base using various oils and goat milk, as well as the challenges and safety precautions required when using sodium hydroxide for saponification. We will then make a batch of soap base as a group. The soap base will be divvied up and students will be able to color and scent their batch to make their very own personalized bars of soap. You will be sent home with three bars of your very own as well as instructions on how to cure it. Cold processed soap requires three to four weeks to cure, so please be sure you have a place with good airflow for it to rest for that time before using. 
This class does involve the use of sodium hydroxide which is caustic,  so attendees under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are available online for classes until 24 hours before the class starts (48 hours for our out-of-town instructors). Payment is required online to guarantee your seat in class. We are not able to accept walk-ins for our classes unless the class is drop-in style.
Payments are non-refundable but are transferrable to another person or class if you are unable to attend as long as you contact us before class starts.  No show, no call are not transferrable.
We have included recommended age limits for all our classes based on what age we feel can successfully complete the class without assistance. However, we recognize that different people have different ability levels, so unless specified, we welcome younger kiddos in class with proper adult supervision. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions whether a class would be a good fit.
