It's back! For many years, we had a great tradition of a monthly Tuesday lunch for our Overland Park community. We're thrilled to announce that Tuesday lunch is back! We had the first successful lunch this August. For just $20, savor a delicious pre-set menu crafted by our expert chefs while getting a taste of our vibrant culinary community. Each month, we will have a Tuesday lunch with a unique menu prepared by our amazing chefs. For September, we will be featuring foods that celebrate the arrival of Fall, including an incredible BBQ Pulled Pork Parfait by Chef Vicky and BBQ Master Larry Hadley, and a Caramel Apple Bread Pudding with Crème Anglaise by Chef Catie.
There are two seatings for this lunch. This ticket is for the first seating:
- First: 11:00am to 12:30pm
- Second: 12:30pm to 2:00pm
This lunch is more than a meal—it's an introduction to our world of cooking classes and gourmet retail offerings. Meet fellow food enthusiasts, chat with our chefs, and discover the joy of cooking in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. At the lunch, you will meet our three CCKC chefs who have prepared your delicious lunch.
Our Chefs:
- Vicky Lara: During her 18 years at The CCKC, Chef Vicky has taught hundreds of classes, team building events, and private events. Chef Vicky can do it all, and she's earned rave reviews over the years for her delicious food and friendly, approachable teaching style.
- Catie Wiley: Executive Pastry Chef Catie Wiley fills the Kansas City Culinary Center with sweet treats, pastries, and artisan breads each week through a vast array of classes showcasing her culinary talents and gift of teaching. From basic Breads 101 to exquisite Pâte à Choux, she brings a warm and welcoming presence to our kitchens.
- Larry Hadley: Larry has been a Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) Certified Master Judge and KCBS Contest Representative for the past 26 years. Larry and his teammate, Q39 founder Rob Magee, led a nationally competitive barbecue team, the “Munchin’ Hogs.” The team won a wide array of competitions over a 10-year span, including two national championships. Larry also serves as Trail Chef for the CDTA (Continental Divide Trail Alliance) several times each year, and competes yearly in the Lenexa Chili Challenge. Larry is an invaluable addition to the Culinary Center team in assisting with classes and events, especially when they feature BBQ!

- Please enjoy a 10% discount on all items in our retail store during the full calendar day/night of this event. Our retail store will be open for browsing prior to the event, during any breaks, and after the event.
- We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of this scheduled event. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel this event for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- This event is family-friendly (ages 5+). Children 5-17 years old are welcome when if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please let us know if you plan to bring a minor.
- If (a) you’d like to sit with another registered guest, or (b) have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in the Comments section of your registration after reading our full description of policies and information about classes and events. If you've registered with other people on the same order, you will automatically be seated together.
