MOM & ME Painting Event:   PORTRAIT of DADDY or Granddaddy

June 19, 2020  at Noon

(Parent or Grandparent Must Stay to Assist Children Ages 4-6; Children Ages 7-9 may attend without a Parent unless the child wants to be assisted.)

Beginner? --No worries.  Susan (our studio owner & professional artist) will lead everyone through each step of the painting process even though they'll have lots of options along the way (including the colors of the sky, types of trees & other details)!  

Cost?   $15 per child (including paint supplies).  We'll use pencils, oil pastels and watercolors on 9" x 12" watercolor paper.

WHAT TO BRING?  Each child should bring a photo of his or her Daddy or Granddaddy.  Place the photo securely inside a ziploc style clear baggie so that we can see the photo clearly as we draw & paint but an accidental splash of water would not damage it. 

Age Group?  Ages 4-9  (Littles Ages 4-6 MUST be assisted by a parent or grandparent throughout the project.   Older students Ages 7-9 may work independently & is not necessary for a parent to assist them.) 

What Time Will the Class End?  "Littles" Ages 4-6 generally finish this lesson in 45 min to 1 hour.  Older students usually finish in 1 hour & 15 minutes; however, an extremely detail oriented older child may need an hour and a half for some finishing touches.  Your child may leave as soon as he or she finishes. 

Can we Bring Our Own Drink? You're welcome to bring a water bottle with a secure lid.   No other drinks please.  (Water is easier to clean up after accidental spills & less damaging if it gets on the paintings.)

Make your reservation at least 48 HOURS in ADVANCE (by June 17).  Reservations will close earlier if our available space fills sooner.

Do you accept credit/debit cards? You may use a credit/debit card IF you choose to pay online as you make your reservation.  Or if you prefer to pay at the event, you'll need exact cash or a check please.  (Just be sure you check the appropriate box if you choose to pay cash or check at the event.)

Parking?  Free & unlimited Parking in the huge Parking Lot between the studio and Lyman 1st Baptist Church.  (Only 2 hour free parking along the sidewalk in front of the studio, so you could use that option to unload people before you go park if you prefer.)

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:

1.   Please do not come early to class.  (We need time before & between classes to clean & set up supplies for class.)  Doors will open no earlier than 10 min prior to each class.  Please make sure other people bringing your child to class are aware of this policy, so they will not have to wait outside in the heat or rain.

2.  For safe distances in the classroom, Please remain in the lobby unless Susan has invited you into the classroom space.  Maintain safe distances while in the lobby.  

3.  We provide Hand Sanitizer as you Enter & Leave the Lobby as well as soaps at our sinks in the back.  

4.   We use 5' tables and normally seat 2 people per table; however, an adult may be able to sit with 2 children from their own family at 1 table -- or 1 child may be able to sit between 2 adults from the same family.  Please be sure to answer all the questions so we can plan our seating.

5.  Please do not bring children or adults to class if they have had a fever in the previous 48 hours.
