Junior Cooks (9-17 YRS): Cooking Camp - $120/Day or $480/5 Days

Designed to empower youth (age 9-17) to have fun and be creative in the kitchen - our half-day camp is all about making cooking approachable, fun, and safe! Campers will build healthy meals that they are proud of!

What's Included

• Delicious recipes that they'll want to make again and again.
• Fun and interactive learning with our chefs. 
• 3.5 blissful hours to yourself while they learn in our hands-on kitchen!
• A delicious can of Farming Karma fruit soda while they work.
• Water is always complementary! Cold and filtered still and sparkling are on tap. 
• Lunch - they'll eat what they make and bring home the rest to share. 

Schedule
🔪 Day 1: Knife Skills, Stir-frying, Salad Rolls (Monday, March 25th)
🍲 Day 2: Soup, Salad, Focaccia (Tuesday, March 26th)
🍝 Day 3: Fresh Egg Pasta, Tomato Sauce, Meatballs (Wednesday, March 27th)
🍗 Day 4: Risotto, Seared Chicken, Grilled Vegetables (Thursday, March 28th)
🍕 Day 5: Thin-crust Pizza, Calzone, Caesar Salad (Friday, March 29th)


Dietary Note: The recipes contain gluten, dairy, meat, and eggs. Substitutions are not available. Lakehouse Kitchens is not a nut-free environment; however, we will not be utilizing any nuts for the classes.

Skills Covered

• Kitchen safety and cleanliness.
• Age appropriate knife skills. 
• Introduction to basic cooking equipment.
• Cooking techniques and temperature control.
• Preparing and chopping vegetables for stir-fry. Stir-frying techniques and sauce preparation. *Day 1
• Building a soup from scratch, salad preparation, baking bread (focaccia). *Day 2
• Making, cutting, and cooking fresh pasta dough. Meatball preparation and cooking. *Day 3
• Risotto technique. Searing chicken and grilling vegetables in a grill pan. *Day 4
• Making and stretching pizza dough. Two ways to make pizza. Salad dressing preparation. *Day 5
