Teen Studio is a 90 minute class where students age 12 and up will focus on learning the methods and techniques of various art mediums. Students can pick their subject matter and adapt their ideas to meet the challenges of the materials provided. 

The first part of class will include instructional time where the tips and tricks of the particular medium will be demonstrated. Then students will spend the remaining time creating and implementing what they learned. Topics and instructors will rotate so that students can further develop their skills in the different mediums and experience different styles from a variety of artists' instructions.

Upcoming Classes:

September 12th - Plaster Mold Making: Offering quite literally a hands-on experience students will be plaster casting their arms and turning them into their own sculpture.

September 19th - Drawing Facial Features with Oil Pastels: Learn to draw expressive facial features using oil pastels, focusing on blending techniques, texture, and color to bring portraits to life.

September 26th - Create art with the sun! Students will prepare photo-sensitive paper and arrange materials to make unique compositions. Beautiful prints develop in just five minutes of UV exposure. Afterward, our instructor will guide students in enhancing their prints with ink designs. (This class runs rain or shine, with indoor UV lights available.)

October 3rd - Drawing an X-ray using Mixed Media: Explore the depths of anatomy by creating a striking X-ray-inspired artwork using mixed media techniques, blending drawing, painting, and layering to reveal what lies beneath the surface.

October 17th - Drawing Harry Potter Fan Art: Dive into the magical world of Harry Potter by creating fan art inspired by the iconic chapter illustrations of Mary GrandPré, learning to capture her expressive style and dynamic compositions.

October 24th - Halloween Collages: Unleash your creativity by crafting a spooky Halloween collage using a mix of paper, fabric, and found objects. This class will guide you in layering textures and colors to create a hauntingly beautiful masterpiece.
