Class Description:

In tonight’s class, you’ll learn basic sauté techniques from one of our most popular instructors. Chef Richard McPeake has been teaching classes with us for almost two decades…and man, oh man, does he know how to cook! Chef will demonstrate basic sautéing skills, a skill that is pervasive in everyday cooking. You’ll sit back and relax as Chef teaches classic sauté dishes like a Sautéed Scampi with Pistachio Garlic Butter appetizer, Chicken al Bercy, (Pan Sautéed Chicken Breast with Chardonnay sauce), Sautéed Seared Beef Tips with Brandy Peppercorn Sauce with an interesting (and delicious) potato hash, and Chef will finish with a dazzling dessert - Bananas Foster Flambé’! All made in a saucepan! Who knew?  Trust us, after this informative class, you’ll leave with the confidence needed to create culinary masterpieces in your own kitchen.

  • For all class registrations made after March 20, your class registration is non-cancellable and non-refundable.  Should you be unable to attend, we suggest that you consider sending someone in your place.  If possible, please let us know of any substitutions so that we can update our records.  For all class registrations made prior to March 20, 2023, your registration is non-cancellable and non-refundable if your request to cancel is made within 72 hours of the start time for that class.
  • If (a) you’d like to sit with another registered guest, or (b) have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in the Comments section of your registration after reading our full description of policies and information about classes.
  • Your registration tells us that you have read through the class description including the age requirements for that particular class.
  • For Adult Classes: you must be at least 18 years old as of the class date.
  • Unless otherwise noted in the class description, all Adult classes include one glass of beer or wine. Additional alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. 
  • Our Kitchen Shop Experience™ will be open for browsing prior to class, during any breaks, and after class.

Please note that your registration is non-refundable and non-cancellable. To view all class-related information and policies, please visit the FAQ at If you or any member of the group for which you are registering is under 18 years of age at the date of the class, please contact The Culinary Center of Kansas City at or 913-341-4455 to determine whether admittance to class will be allowed. I acknowledge and understand that I and all parties for whom I am registering will be asked to execute a written liability waiver prior to the start of the class and that this waiver is required in order to participate in the class.
