Leather Working: Card Case

Learn the punching and sewing techniques using hand tools to work pre-cut leather pieces and thread into a card case or small wallet with a snap.

Ages 12+

In this class students will receive a pre-cut kit of several pieces of leather, glue and punch holes and then learn to sew with a saddle stitch.  We will briefly discuss needle types and sizes, types of thread, and types of punches and techniques for punching sewing holes. Snaps will be set, with hand tools or a press.

Students will complete a card case that can be used for business cards or a slim wallet. Some experience with hand tools preferred, but not necessary. Tools and supplies will be provided, just bring yourself and your hands. Feel free to take photos and notes.
