Welcome to Glassworks!
Glassworks is adding weekly classes to the mix of options at the Studio. The Project of the Week with Jieun Yoon, our new studio manager and glass artist extraordinaire will focus on teaching and demonstrating a wide range of glass skills so you can make amazing art.
Anyone who wants to learn more about the process of glass fusing, can join professional glass artist, Jieun Yoon, for a guided experience. Jieun
will demonstrate different glass materials and skills as she prepares you to create your version of the week’s project.
With spaces limited up to 10 people, you will have plenty of support as you learn all about kiln-formed glass.

CLASS DESCPITION "Project of the Week : Garden Stake" (You may create up to set of 5 stakes depend on your design.)
After a brief introduction you will learn about glass and its many forms through the handling of sample pieces. You will learn to how to recognize and use a wide array of glass materials, all available in different colors and find out about stringers, ribbons, frits, sheets, confetti, decals, and iridescent glass! Learn the difference between tack and full fusing and how each is achieved! She will give you a demonstration about cutting techniques and deliver a safety talk. When ready, you will decide how to design your project and then the fun will really start! Take your time exploring the materials and design options until you've chosen your final design. The see it through from cutting. to layout to setting in place.
At the end of the session, leave your work to be fired and kiln formed. Your work will be fused and gently cooled, ready for collection in one week.
These 3-hour long workshops are 'stand-alone' and are equally suited to beginners and more experienced customers.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Private Class may be amended on request (All the class projects are only available in that class-time, if you’d like to sign up with your private group minimum of 5, contact us). The class is going to be a specific theme or project that we can have enough time to consult on your desire or idea.
