6 week Pottery Wheel Class

This Class is designed to illustrate how clay can be shaped and altered to make every day practical pottery pieces and creative artwork.  Instruction includes molding clay through hands-on use of clay wheels. During class,  you will learn how to embellish pieces by adding flowers, shells, and other decorative features and given guidance on the use of common clay tools to add texture and patterns to individualize clay pieces. You will learn hand-building techniques as well, including use of the slab roller and extruder.  Finally, you will gain experience in different glazing styles that give each piece of pottery its character.  
 
This class is 6 weeks long. You will attend once a week for 2-2.5 hours. All materials and firing are included. All Clay will be provided for each class, possibly using different types of clay. This class is meant to be informative and to increase your throwing skills.  Mostly it is all about fun!
