Let the beauty of the winter season inspire you and join with friends exploring observational drawing and creating with watercolor. In this encouraging and fun class you will learn about and practice the building blocks of observational drawing and explore the beauty of watercolor. Often considered to be art in its most direct and fundamental form, the practice of observational drawing enhances and enriches artists in many ways. Working with line, shape, value, form and texture, learn to draw what you see. You will learn about many watercolor techniques, study the work of a variety of artists, using still life and photo images as sources.
Watercolor is a water soluble paint which has transparent properties allowing light to be reflected through layers of color. This exciting and versatile medium gives artists the opportunity to express their creativity in multiple ways. Washes of rich color, playful brushstrokes and the sparkle of white paper combine in unique ways to create beautiful paintings. This is a fun and relaxing class and perfect for all levels of experience.
