DISPATCH FROM HQ 10-01-21 AT 08:00 HRS
Gizmo is recruiting youth ages 11-14 to be part of an elite tech training squad who will be using creative coding skills to support the work of our secret agents in the field. You will learn how to use the micro:bit, a pocket-sized computer equipped with LED lights, buttons, sensors and more, to complete projects such as: designing an SOS beacon, helping agents avoid capture by the enemy, and developing a secret code device.
Participants receive new mission briefings and project materials every week. By the end of the class, you will have completed ten unique projects that showcase a range of micro:bit features. You will leave the class with your own micro:bit and kit of accessories to continue to create and remix your own projects at home.
$5 Sign-Up Fee* includes four weeks of instruction (+ optional bonus session during Thanksgiving week), plus all materials for the course -- including materials for your final project that you build and keep!
This class is part of Gizmo’s CS Saturdays Series. Computer Science Saturdays is a unique program for PK through high school students to learn coding, design, robotics and electronics through creative projects and problem solving. Each series is a short (3-4 week) exploration of a CS topic, geared toward a particular age group. Every CS Saturday session is different! If this class doesn’t fit your age group or interests, check out our future class offerings!
