Our most popular camp, your child will be excited and “Ready for School” with this bilingual camp which teaches children lots of Spanish vocabulary related to items in a classroom, rooms in a school, people who work in a school, etc. with a special emphasis on preparing children for kindergarten. These have ben especially popular with families whose children are going into Two-Way Immersion (TWI) or Dual Language Immersion (DLI) kindergarten.
They'll learn Spanish-style art forms, and make their own versions through craft. For example. the kids will learn about and make a Guatemalan Worry Doll, which legend says will take a child’s worries away while they sleep so they can wake up happy and confident. We serve a cultural snack each day, with something that will challenge their tastebuds.
These summer favorite half-day camps run Monday through Thursday, ensuring your Friday is free for long summer weekends. We pack in a bunch of Spanish fun. Kids tell me their favorite parts are the games every day, and the piñata on the last day. Parents tell me they love that their kids can keep learning Spanish in fun ways over the summer.
This camp is held in the Little Blessings Preschool at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. It's a perfect setting for this... There are kid-size bathrooms in the room, a fenced in playground for daily our outdoor play time, and a kitchen area for our snack time. Plenty of room to play rain or shine.
Your child will hear Spanish, speak Spanish and play in Spanish.
