Intro to MIG Welding & Plasma Cutting: Fountain

Learn to use the plasma cutter, MIG welder, and other welding tools to create your own water fountain in this beginner level class!

Ages 16+

Students under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.

This is a beginners course on how to MIG (Metal Inert Gas) weld.  You will learn how to safely weld, drill, cut and assemble a metal water fountain.  The tools you use will include the MIG Welder and Plasma Cutter.

Previous Experience is not needed to take this class and will provide CIF members proper training to qualify for use of these shop tools on their own.

All materials, including water pump, will be provided for your project.  

Required attire:

Please remember to wear closed-toed shoes, and natural fiber clothing (cotton, denim, linen).  Long pants and long sleeves provide the best protection.  Please note that if you do not dress appropriately for this class you may not be able to fully participate and you will not receive a credit or refund.

About the instructor:

Gavin Bruce is a professional sculptor whose work is seen by more than 2.5 million people each year.  He has proven his ability to sculpt the human figure with permanent bronze sculptures located at places like Kings Island Amusement Park and the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphanage Home in Xenia, Ohio.  Gavin's sculpting process includes sketching in digital sculpting software, sculpting in oil based clays, mold making, and pouring his own bronze sculptures.
