Class Description:
There's nothing quite like biting into a fresh, chewy bagel straight from the oven. In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to craft authentic New York-style bagels from scratch. You will start by mixing the dough and shaping the rings, then boiling and baking them to perfection. Your guide is Executive Pastry Chef Catie Wiley, who joins us after a distinguished career as a pastry chef at several iconic patisseries and restaurants on the East Coast.
We'll begin by combining simple ingredients like high-protein bread flour, yeast, salt and warm water to form the thick, elastic bagel dough. As you learn the proper kneading techniques, the dough will develop those glorious gluten strands that give bagels their signature chewy bite. While our dough goes through the first rise, you'll prepare a savory cream cheese spread loaded with fresh herbs and spices. Then you'll shape your dough into the classic bagel rounds with a hole in the center. Next up, Chef Catie teaches a crucial step in bagel making: the boiling process. Boiling gives bagels' their unique soft and chewy texture. You'll learn the tricks for dropping, flipping, and topping the bagels with traditional toppings like sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or the beloved "everything" blend, before transferring them to the oven for their final bake.
By the end of the class, you'll take home freshly baked New York-style bagels ready to be schmeared with your zesty cream cheese spread. With these bagel-making skills, weekend brunch will never be the same!

- We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
- This class is for adults 18+. Children 14-17 years old are allowed if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please let us know if you plan to bring a minor.

If you've registered with other people on the same order, you will automatically be seated together.
