Opened in 2010 by husband and wife team TJ and Hadley Douglas, the Urban Grape is an award-winning wine, craft beer, and spirits store located in Boston’s vibrant South End neighborhood on Columbus Ave. Unlike any other wine store, Urban Grape utilizes Progressive Shelving, a unique system of organizing wines by their body, rather than varietal or region. This approach allows staff to help customer pick the perfect wine for their palate by encouraging exploration of regions, varietals, producers, and price points while staying in their wine comfort zone. Taking the Progressive Shelving concept from the store to the pages of this book, Hadley and TJ layout the idea of drinking progressively as a tool to help you better understand the wines you currently like and their characteristics. They also explore practical principles to help you pair wine with food, no matter the meal. Join us at Stir with special guests authors and Urban Grape owners Hadley and TJ Douglas and with chef Gabriel Frasca of Straight Wharf Kitchen, for a night of drinking, and eating, progressively.
A signed copy of Urban Grape’s Drink Progressively is included in the price of this class.
