Join us for a month of creativity as we dive into the exciting world of pattern and surface design. This hands-on workshop series provides an introduction to surface design techniques and how to embrace vibrant color on clay work. You’ll be introduced to an array of techniques including using pattern, stencils, carving, silk screening and others as vocabulary of personal expression. Hand building techniques will be offered to help you make the functional or sculptural work of your dreams. Those who are familiar with the wheel are welcome to use the wheel to produce work for surface design.
This course is open to all skill levels. Hand-builders and wheel throwers are welcome. Previous experience in clay will be helpful but not necessary. This workshop is open to students 16 and older.
