Video Game Development: Navigating Game Physics

Create your first simple physics-based race car game!


Ages 16+


Rev up your engines because we're rolling into race car games in Unity 3D! Learn to program your first simple physics-based car! We'll also showcase the many facets of a dungeon crawler game using particles, dynamically driven navigation, and physic mechanics. This is a jam-packed lesson you don't want to miss! 

A basic understanding of programming is helpful, but not required for this beginner level class.

Requirements:

Please bring your own laptop and storage device (USB 3.0 flash drive) to save your work and please have Unity 3D 5.2.2 pre-installed. Student laptops are available on a limited basis, indicated on the registration page. Mac or Windows welcomed! It is optional and not required to bring your own USB 3.0 8GB+ flash drive to save class files onto to bring home.

Instructor: Wes Adams

As a co-founder and the chief design officer at Multivarious Games LLC, Wesley Adams helps to coordinate interactive design, 3D animation, and team processes within the company development pipeline on titles like Hatch-It! and No Mercy.

Wesley is an organizer of the Central Ohio Gamedev Group. He works with COGG to voice awareness, support project opportunities, and provide resources in all aspects of game development. Throughout the year, he advises on the game developer expo board called GDEX who hosts an annual game developer event in Columbus. 

At Game-U, not only does he continue to reverberate his enthusiasm to grow others through teaching but, he also helps guide students on how to make their very own games! During the day, Wesley works as a courseware developer for Xcelerate Media in Dublin, Ohio. He creates interactive e-learning content and character animations with fortune 500 companies. Before working in the video-game industry, Wesley obtained a BFA in animation from the Columbus College of Art and Design.
