Tuesday: Cake Baking and Decorating
- 6" Funfetti Cake
- Swiss Meringue Buttercream frosting
- Garnish bar for decorating (sprinkles etc.)
- Lunch and snacks
Wednesday: Cinnamon Rolls and Savoury Scones
- Cinnamon Rolls
- Basic scone recipe with a choice to add cheese and chives
- Lunch and snacks
Thursday: Pie Pastry & Cookies
- Oatmeal Monster Cookies
- Fruit-Filled Hand-Pies
- Lunch and snacks
Friday: Cinnamon Mini Donuts & Glazed Cake Donuts
- Mini yeast donuts tossed with cinnamon sugar (like at the carnival!)
- Cake donuts
- Glaze of choice (vanilla, chocolate, etc.)
- Sprinkles and candy to decorate!
- Lunch and snacks
What's Included
- Delicious recipes that they'll want to make again and again.
- Fun and interactive learning with our chefs.
- 3.5 blissful hours to yourself while they learn in our hands-on kitchen!
- Snacks and drinks throughout the morning to keep them hydrated and brains in peak performance.
- Lunch - since they'll be baking up a storm, we'll provide a balanced lunch for them to enjoy in our dining room. Lunches will be "Chef's Choice" and may include soups, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and other tasty favourites!
Dietary Note: The recipes contain gluten, dairy, meat, and eggs. Substitutions are not available.
Need to drop them off early? No problem, doors open at 9 AM. Campers can hang out with us until we start baking at 9:30 AM.
Skills Covered
- Kitchen Safety and cleanliness.
- Introduction to basic baking equipment.
- Baking techniques and temperature control.
- Cooking choux pastry and using a piping bag. *Monday
- Making cake and frosting from scratch. Decorating basics. *Tuesday
- Sweet bread basics. Cutting butter for scones. *Wednesday
- Making, rolling, and cutting pie pastry. Creaming butter for cookies. *Thursday
- Understanding yeast and its role in donut making. Safe deep-frying. *Friday
The Fine Print
- Kitchen appropriate attire is mandatory. Please make sure your camper is wearing closed-toed shoes or socks and sandals, and has their hair tied back.
- Lunch & snacks are provided - our program is designed for the campers to bring home the desserts they create so we'll provide a healthy balanced lunch and snacks to keep them fueled during camp.
- It is recommended they bring a reusable water bottle to fill at our water stations throughout the day.
