Angelina Bio:
Angelina Ramirez is a flamenco movement artist and teaching artist living in Tucson, Arizona. Ramirez’s artistic work explores what it means to be a queer, latinx flamenca, practicing in a traditional Roma/gitano form of dance. As a teaching artist, she is interested in the intersections of arts and healing, focusing on work with elders of all abilities and integrated flamenco for neurodivergent participants. Ramirez is a 2022 Dance/USA Artist Fellow and 2017 National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures fellow. In 2021, Ramirez received the Master-Apprentice Artist Award through the Southwest Folklife Alliance for her dedication to flamenco arts. In 2018 she received the Arizona Commission on the Arts' Artist Research and Development Grant to support the development of her evening-length work /SER/. Ramirez is an original member of Yjastros, the American Flamenco Repertory Company and has toured with world-renowned, New York-based company Noche Flamenca. Along with teaching and performing Ramirez produces events and festivals throughout Arizona.
Kris Bio:
A graduate of Arizona State University class of 2000, Kristofer apprenticed with world renowned composers & performing artists Daniel Lentz & Richard Lehrman. While studying Jazz Guitar, Piano, Percussion, Recording & electronic music, he developed & applied his skills by composing & recording over 180 compositions for art installations, fashion industry, films, & modern dance performances throughout the US and the world. His career also progressed as an educator developing & executing music programming, outreach, & lec dems for non profit organizations: Flamenco Vivo NYC, Free Arts AZ, Boys & Girls Club, Baton Rouge Arts Council and as a guest artist at renowned institutions such as Duke University, Cal State LB, NYU, LSU, & UNM to name a few. Highlights include being featured as a TEDx presenter at LSU 2016, 15yrs of employment teaching Kinder through University at private & public schools throughout AZ, and working as a Principal Accompanist/Pianist for AZ Ballet and Arizona State U. Kristofer is currently resides in Cave Creek, AZ and is an artist in residence at The AZ Biltmore Waldorf-Astoria Hotel & JW Marriot Camelback Inn. He continues to play public venues, theaters, music festivals, & weddings; as well as private parties and gatherings for the elite of Americas Fortune 500. His compositions have been performed at the Joyce Theater NYC, NYU, Nikon Times Square NYC, & at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival in Whitby, England. Live Guitar performance credits include Lincoln Center, L’Usine: Geneva, Museo del Barrio: NYC, PHX Symphony Hall, Teatro Alameda Sevilla, and Woodstock(NY), as well as many other international venues. His music can also be heard Sony Pictures 2010 release of Universal soldier Regeneration.
