Class Description
Join us for a magical day of cooking for all those who love the journey of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and all the wizards from Hogwarts School as you learn how to make enchanting foods fit for a wizard. Professor Laura Thomsen, a self-professed Potterhead, will oversee this School of Kitchen Witchcraft & Culinary Wizardry! Laura is the creative mind behind many of our family friendly classes, making a fun and welcoming environment for families to experience the joys of cooking together. 

She’s excited to teach this magically awesome class where you’ll gather in The Culinary Center of Kansas City’s Great Hall Kitchen and learn dazzling culinary wizardry (aka essential cooking techniques).  As you soak in all of the tips and tricks, you’ll learn an array of enchanting dishes, including culinary sorcery such as Pumpkin Juice, Cheese Howlers (pepperoni and cheese filled pastries), Flobberworm Paste with Twigs and Stems (made-from-scratch ranch dressing with veggies), Aragog Arachnid Pie (meat and potato pies), Chocolate Frog candies and of course, we can’t let you escape through the flue network without a warm mug of Butter Beer. You’ll leave with your baked pies as well as all the recipes so you may recreate the yummy dishes at home in your own castle to show off to friends and family. Harry Potter themed costumes welcome and encouraged!


Notes:

• Please enjoy a 10% discount on all items in our retail store during the full calendar day/night of your class or event. Our retail store will be open for browsing prior to class, during any breaks, and after class. 
• We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
• Family Friendly (5+) - All ages 5 and up welcome. Each child below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. 
• If (a) you’d like to sit with another registered guest, or (b) have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in the Comments section of your registration after reading our full description of policies and information about classes. If you've registered with other people on the same order, you will automatically be seated together.
• Your registration tells us that you have read through the class description including the age requirements for that particular class.
