Look into small mirrors to draw Self-Portraits inspired by Frida Kahlo. What kinds of objects or people describe you? Through arts education and art making, youth will explore identity, self-awareness, literacy, and geography. Who are you and where are you from?
Literacy Element: Book - Where Do I Live by Neil Chesanow. Poem - ‘Where I’m From’ by George Ella Lyons.
The poet uses objects and people to describe where she is from. Fill in the blanks of your own poem to think more deeply about what makes you unique.
Through structured play, our educational workshops integrate visual art, hands-on art, and performance art to build character. We believe that focusing on self-confidence and leadership will help local youth be proud of what makes them super and see and treat others as an extension of themselves. Note:
