Advanced Sewing: Messenger Bag

Combine many sewing techniques into one project, learning to customize a pattern to suit your needs as you personalize a messenger bag, saling size to fit your needs and adding desired compartments. Made from recycled denim and sturdy hardware, you'll learn how to apply fusible interfacing, add buckles and D-Rings and add a lining with pockets.

• Students who have completed intermediate sewing skills; Intermediate Sewing II, Shop Apron must be completed first (or demonstrated intermediate sewing experience). Beginner Sewing:Machine Orientation suggested.

Plan Your Visit

To get the most out of this class, bring your own sewing machine. If you need to borrow one for the class, email info@ideafoundry.com with your class date. All other materials provided. Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes in workshop areas, and sturdy footwear (e.g. tennis shoes or boots) is recommended. Plan to arrive for class about 10-15 min early and check in at the front desk.  Our main entrance is on State Street, with parking lot entrance on State St. as well. IF parking and street parking available.
