Wine enjoyment has become a popular life style choice. Join us for a wine
class that combines a fun presentation about what we taste in wines.
Participants will explore a number of wine types and flavors, regional differences, and wine maker influences. Instructor Tom Bender has taught wine related classes at nearby Columbia College for over 35 years. For the past 15 years he has managed O’Brien’s Market extensive wine department and popular wine tasting bar in Modesto. In his spare time he is a home wine maker, writes about wine and food, and has traveled extensively to many wine regions around the world. He coordinates the Sierra Foothill wine judging in addition to being a judge himself at several big competitions.“We’ll focus on California wines and have fun with a sensory evaluation along with discussing current wine trends and its relationship with various foods.” according to Tom.
