Class Description:
The holidays aren’t complete without a fun family-focused party where everyone makes decorated holiday treats to take home and show off. So, let’s kick off the holiday season the right way...with a very special family-friendly decorating fundamentals class that will cover decorating techniques and tips that will have you making your own colorful holiday cookies like a pro in no time. You will be making classic cookie dough, rolling it out and of course the fun part, cutting our Christmas cookie shapes out. We invite all you “kids” (ages 5 and up) to experience this fun and interactive old-fashioned, holiday festivity.

Our Pastry Artist Rachel Van Stratton is an experienced culinary instructor and Pastry Artist Extraordinaire. It will be an informative morning as adults and kids explore tips and techniques for creating inspired holiday designs with Buttercream Icing, pastry tips and pastry bags and using fun candies as embellishments. You’ll get to tie on an apron and step into the decorating details as you practice what you’ve learned and work on colorful holiday designs, step-by-step. Lots of valuable hands-on experience as she shows you how to use these techniques to transform plain cookies into your favorite holiday designs. Of course, she’ll have some sample cookies decorated to show you how it’s done (and for you to use as a guide if you like).

We’ll have holiday music and hot cocoa available, too! At the end of this class, we’ll send you home with your sweet holiday creations in a baker’s box, all ready to show off… and to EAT of course! Reserve early… this holiday workshop always sells out fast!

We provide a full refund if you need to cancel more than three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled class. You will receive an Account Credit if you need to cancel at any time within three weeks but prior to the class start time. Please note that any refund issued for classes purchased using a Gift Certificate or Account Credit will result in reinstatement of the original Gift Card or Account Credit and will bear the same expiration date. Account Credits issued for cancelations within three weeks of a class will expire one year from the date of issuance. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, at any time, in which case you will receive a full refund.
Family Friendly (5+) - All ages 5 and up welcome. Each child below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Prior to registration, if you or any member of the group for which you are registering is under 18 years of age at the date of the class, please contact The Culinary Center of Kansas City at cook@kcculinary.com or 913-341-4455 to determine whether admittance to class will be allowed. There are certain classes where 14 years and older may attend as long as an adult also attends with them and as long as we have a completed waiver signed by a legal representative for the child. Without prior approval and a properly signed waiver, any registrant who is under 18 years of age will not be allowed to participate in this class. I acknowledge and understand that I and all parties for whom I am registering will be asked to execute a written liability waiver prior to the start of the class and that this waiver is required in order to participate in the class.
