In this fun and imaginative class, students will explore the colorful collage world of Eric Carle, beloved author and artist of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Students will begin by creating vibrant, hand-painted papers just like Eric Carle did in his process. While the papers dry, you’ll learn simple collage techniques to cut, layer, and arrange shapes into playful compositions. Using a wide variety of colorful and textured papers, students will design their own unique collage. Maybe it is a whimsical creature or insect, an imaginative landscape, or an entirely new world.
This class is open to ages 9 through adults and is perfect for anyone looking to tap into their creative, whimsical side in a relaxed and supportive environment. No experience necessary—just bring your imagination!
