6 students max.

Students must have their own beginner guitar (recommend Lyons guitar: http://kidguitarist.com/lyons-classroom-guitar-review/ or any other child-sized nylon string guitar - but not a TOY! Click here for guitar sizing.

Young students will learn the parts of a guitar, the numbering of the frets, strings and fingers, how to read a chord diagram and tablature, how to play simple chords and songs, how to keep their fingers from getting sore, and how to grow a friendship with their guitar! Really!

Linda Richards has taught guitar, voice, ukulele, songwriting, multiple classroom grades, professional development, music, natural science and (if you can believe it) even more, in a myriad of settings from the woods to the stage for most of her life. Former lead singer of Medusa Jellyfish and Soul Purpose, current lead singer in Vanaver Caravan's show: "Turn, Turn, Turn", a Clearwater musical mainstay, and one of the directors of the new Beacon Camp@The Camp, Linda brings her boundless energy mixed with her musical chops to the Beacon Music Factory and the kids of Beacon with great enthusiasm!
