Pottery Wheel Beginner to Intermediate Level 6 Weeks

6 weeks - Beginning June 15th through July 27th (No Class on July 6th, Holiday July 4th week)

Beginning Wheel Students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel and will include preparation, centering opening, pulling, trimming, and attaching handles. The students will work on bowl and cylinder forms and then learning to brush and dip glazes.

Intermediate and Continuing Students will start will begin with a refresher and then will get weekly challenges, techniques, and surface applications, which are all geared toward skill building. The class will conclude with dipping and brushing on your stoneware glazes.

Supplies: New Students will purchase a Kemper Pottery Wheel Tool Kit if they do not already have tools, and a 25 lb bag of moist clay will run around $50 for materials.  The 25 lb bag of clay will be plenty for the class series. Mud Puddle Pottery Studio is a distributor of Laguna clay, supplies, tools, glazes, pottery wheels, kilns and equipment, etc and you can purchase it all when you arrive for class.

We suggest that students bring an old towel to class, a few zip lock storage bags for clay scraps, and a
 storage container for tools. 

Kiln firing of your class projects and studio glazes are included in class
fee.  This class is an Adult class for ages 16 and up.
