Welcome to Intro to Acrylic Painting. A four week painting series for Teens & Adults

This course is designed for beginners who have never picked up a brush before, through to intermediate level artists who are looking to try out acrylics. We will start at the very beginning and work our way through all the basic skills like brushwork mechanics and how to apply acrylics to achieve the best fluid strokes. The course covers some of the key things you need to know about painting with Acrylic paint including:

•  The correct use of Values in painting
• The basic composition of good landscape painting
• How to create a sense of realism in your landscape and still life paintings. 
• Creating light
• Developing layers of depth
• The characteristics of Acrylic Paint
• Color Mixing and Blending
• Brush Movement Techniques
• How to use Acrylic Paints to best effect

This is a four week class series for Teens and Adults old. Classes will re-occur weekly on the same day. For example if you choose to start on a Wednesday, all classes will be on Wednesday. Please let us know if you need to make different arrangements and will do our best to accommodate!

you will be required to purchase your own art supplies within 2 weeks after start day. We will provide a supply list that you can take to California Art Supply (or a place of your choosing). We highly encourage students to take care of their own art supplies, it's truly the first step in becoming an independent artist
