Learn to rush a stool with fibre (paper) rush. Skills used in this class can be used to rush chairs with other materials: pre-twisted natural rush, seagrass, paracord, twine, corded wool, or whatever you can imagine. Rush weaving dates back to Egyptian times. Originally done with cattail or bulrush, fiber was introduced in 1904. Pre-twisted natural rush is now available to mimic the look of cattail without the intense labor. The pattern remains the same over time. Learn the pattern and utilize it with other materials on future projects.
