Got an old painting that you don't like? Bring it to our Zoom class and transform it into something else! In this fun class, Tabetha will demonstrate a negative painting technique, and help each student with their own painting.
Negative space painting is simply adding in some negative space (usually a solid color) over an existing painting. This negative space will partially obscure the original image, leaving some of it showing through.
This class is for all levels of painters, and beginners are welcomed and encouraged - but you do need an old image to paint over. If you don't have a painting you want to transform, you can paint over a collage, or create one to paint over. This is a super fun project!
Supplies:
Acrylic or oil paints and brushes
Painting Surface:
Old painting or collage that you no longer want.
Misc Supplies:
Paper towels or rags, a palette or paper plate, and a container for water. Stencils can be fun with this project but are not necessary.
Pencil and paper.
Drawing utensils are very helpful in this class: Conte Crayon, compressed charcoal, oil pastes....even crayons!
This class will take place on Zoom
