What It Costs
Wheel rental $45 for 1 hour (per wheel). Includes up to three one-pound balls of clay. We know how much practice it takes to learn to use a wheel. That’s why we give you not one but three chances! Includes keeping and firing your best project. Want to keep them all? Additional projects are just $10 each.
We Provide The Tools
Wheels include pictorial instruction and a wheel instructor to get you started.
Long fingernails
It is near impossible to form clay with long fingernails. We would suggest filing them short and rounded. It is also for safety.
Dress for mess
Wheels can get a little messy. Kiln clay and glaze will wash out. Air dry option does stain.
BYOB
We do allow people to bring their own beverages for pottery wheel including adult beverages. Wheels do not have room for food.
Kiln Firing
Unlike ceramics firing clay takes time to dry before firing. After throwing a piece on the pottery wheel it has to dry 2-3 weeks before we can fire it for the first time. Longer if it is very thick. You will get a text when your piece is fired and ready to paint. We offer a free paint visit if painted within 3 months after it is fired. After painting your piece it will be fired a second time and ready to pick up the following week on Thursday. Don’t have that much time? No worries check out our vacation info.
When finished we will put your name and class date on the bottom for you. Remember to bring $10 for any additional projects you end up wanting to keep.
