This is an advanced throwing class. You need to have taken beginning pottery and feel you have a good handle on centering the clay and making forms. We will be exploring different forms in this class as well as things you want to challenge yourself with.
Our goal is to have clay projects fired and ready to be picked up 2 weeks after the class is held. Once the clay projects are ready, participants have 14 days to pick up their projects. After 14 days, we will re-purpose any projects that are unclaimed.
Part of the process in wheel throwing is basic studio etiquette. Your class time includes not only throwing, but also cleaning your wheel and surrounding floor area and clay tools that were used. Clay is messy - leave your watches and rings at home. Please bring a towel to wipe your hands and wear an apron/clothes you can get dirty (clay does wash out). A clean studio is a healthy studio as clay dust can build up.
All social distancing guidelines will be followed. Face masks will not be required, but we encourage those who wish to wear them. Class is limited to 7 participants.
