Flush Setting (Workshop)

Flush Setting is a technique which involves setting small stones, usually round, "flush" with the surface of the metal. The stone is held in place by a tiny edge of burnished metal, leaving a clean, unembellished surface. In this one day workshop you will learn how to drill, open up and prepare metal to set stones flush into the piece. We'll learn about the anatomy of a faceted stone, types and sizes of burs, and the process of flush setting. We will also discuss the process of making our own burnishers. Students will practice setting different size stones in copper or brass.

Advanced students. $175.00 per person. All materials included in fee.
