Teen Shag Classes

As a continuation of The Mather Academy Music and Performing Arts classes Mather Academy is offering a teen shag classes on Thursdays from 5:45-6:45pm for students 13-18 years old!

Carolina Shag is not only the SC state dance; it is fun for all ages! Topher & Gina will teach teens the fundamentals of Carolina Shag, and then show them special steps that will make them shine on the dance floor. Students will learn fancy footwork, lead and follow dynamics, and partner choreography. Teens that excel in their dancing may be chosen for Beaufort’s Jr Shag Competition team, and invited to the Beaufort Shag club to perform.

At the end of the semester, all students will be invited to participate in our gallery exhibit in May 2016 honoring our students and celebrating their works of arts at Mather Academy! #event
