Come learn how to create a bas-relief sculpture using our air-dry clay and clay tools! Bas-relief is a low relief sculpture method that is popular in classical architecture, coins, tiles, and much more.
In this workshop, students will be taught how to use the reductive method of sculpting that employs clay tools to carve out an image. Students will choose what image they want to carve out of their clay tile, and our art instructor will teach them how to use the tools to achieve different levels of dimension in their bas-relief sculptures. Then, students will create and paint a faux-glaze aesthetic to their bas-relief tiles.
This is a three day workshop that will meet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00-7:30pm.
All supplies for these classes are provided by the Art Factory. This workshop is intended for ages 10+.
