Wax Carving and Model Building

Learn both the subtractive and additive techniques of wax model making for casting and how to effectively work with casting vendors to produce multiplies of a design or components. Creating models using other materials, an understanding of the lost-wax casting process and a brief overview of CAD for jewelry making will also be presented. Sandcasting will be demonstrated to show how primitive duplicates can be created, however, no lost-wax casting will be performed in class. Students will have time to create many models and will be given vendor resources where they can have their designs cast professionally at their cost.

All tools and supplies are provided and are included in the tuition price.

There is an additional $85 fee for tools and materials due to the instructor on the first day of class.
