Do you have some experience on the wheel, but you want to take it to the next level? Create a clay birdhouse using both wheelthrowing and handbuilding techniques!
- Week 1: Use the pottery wheel to create your birdhouse's main structure
- Week 2: Carve your windows and hole, and use the slab roller to create the roof. Assembly time!
- (we will bisque fire the birdhouses between weeks 2 and 3)
- Week 3: Glazing!
This class is geared towards adult students. For this session, we can accommodate interested high school students.
Each 3-week session registration includes 2 hours/week of instructional time. Your $60+tax registration covers all instruction and supplies necessary to complete your bird house!

COVID Requirements;
Masks are required OVER THE NOSE and mouth at all times during class sessions. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please wait for the next session if you or someone you have been in close contact with has been diagnosed with Covid in the past 10 days. If you find that you have been in contact while the class is in session, please let us know and we will gladly fit you into a makeup session at a later date.
Effort will be made to spread students out, but it may not be possible to maintain social distancing at all times.
Individuals are encouraged to let us know if you prefer private 3-week session. Private sessions can be scheduled for family/friend groups of 4-6. Contact us directly at clayworks@hotplatepottery.com with your preferred day/time and we will get back to you.
